Professional Project

myBarn

I am currently working on a small project that was inspired by our local equestrian community. It is a mobile-first web application designed to help horse owners become (and stay) organized. The intention is to get the app into the hands of our local horse folks for testing, then release it into the wild. There is a crippling lack of technology specific to the horse industry, so I do look forward to using this an opportunity to branch into mobile development and offer real products to solve real problems. This project is currently in the stage of back-end development, but you can take a look at the lifecycle thus far by clicking here. The code and final project will be posted soon, so be sure to check back.

WEB 450

Computer Repair Shop

A web application for a fictitious computer repair store. As the final assignment for Bellevue University, this group project had requirements for components, pages, color schemes, and functionality. Our group chose to create an internal facing application, employing user roles to limit access. Each group was assigned a Hogwarts House from the Harry Potter films for their color scheme, and we got the Hufflepuff House whose colors are yellow and black. I was voted team captain, making me responsible for delegating work and ensuring we stay on task in addition to my completing my own tasks. This project came together from start to finish in two weeks. To see the code for this project, click here! To see the application, take a look here!

Scott Richards Salon

Scott is the owner of Scott Richards Salon located in Atlanta. I have been a client of his for several years, and now he is a client of mine. After discussing his situation during a haircut, we agreed that some changes needed to be made. He was spending a lot of money, but had little idea where it was going and no control over his website so he couldn't keep it updated like he wanted to. We made some changes to his CMS set up, gave him more control, and saved him some money on the way. Take a look here.

Savana Beauty Organics

Scott of Scott Richards Salon created a pre-wash product for skin and hair that he wanted to sell to the public. He had an art student do his logo, photography, and initial website set-up using Big Cartel for a cost effective start. I came in to edit the photos and website to obtain a sleek, professional look, as well as to help set up the back-end of the e-commerce aspect. Scott and I are now working on a plan to market the product beyond the salon.
